Installing Office 365

Important: Please read the following information before installing the Office 365 installation package:

• The installation file contains approximately 3 GB of data. As this is a large file, you should not download it while using an Internet package with monthly download limits or excess download charges or while using roaming on a mobile cellular network.
• Before starting the installation, if possible, we recommend that you connect your laptop or computer to your router using an ethernet cable. This will ensure the best possible download speed available from your Internet connection.
• If using a laptop, ensure the charger is connected to the device and plugged in before commencing the installation.
• Allow sufficient time to download the Office 365 package. An estimation of the download time required to download 3 GB of data is as follows (to check the download speed of your Internet connection, go to www.speedtest.net):
  • 300 Mbps: 1 minute
  • 150 Mbps: 3 minutes
  • 75 Mbps: 5 minutes
  • 25 Mbps: 16 minutes
  • 10 Mbps: 41 minutes
  • 2 Mbps: 3.5 hours
  • 1 Mbps: 7 hours

Install on a desktop or laptop:
To install the Office 365 applications on Microsoft Windows or macOS devices:

1. Log in to your Office 365 account.
2. Select Install Office. Choose either Office 365 apps (32-bit version) or Other installation options (for the 64-bit version or other languages).
3. When prompted, select Save File.
4. To begin the installation, follow the on-screen instructions.

The Office 365 components will start to download. This may take some time to complete.

Install on a mobile device

• iOS
  To install a Microsoft Office app on your iOS device:
  1. Open the App store.
  2. Tap Search.
  3. Enter the name of the app you would like to install (for example, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote).
  4. Tap Get.
  5. Log in to your Apple ID account, if required. The app will be installed on your device.
  6. To unlock a fully featured version of the app, enter your Office 365 account information.

• Android
  To install a Microsoft Office app on your Android device:
  1. Open the Google Play store.
  2. Enter the name of the app you would like to install (for example, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote) and then tap Search.
  3. Tap Install.
  4. Log in to your Google account, if required. The app will be installed on your device.
  5. To unlock a fully featured version of the app, enter your Office 365 account information.
