When uploading your photo, you should resize the photo to 150 px by 150 px if possible. Larger photos will also be accepted; however, for best results, you should ensure the width and height of the photo are equal, for example, 150 px by 150 px. Your photo must be less than 1,024 px by 1,024 px. To resize a photo, you will need to open it in a photo-editing application.
Note: Before editing any photo, you should always make a copy first and then edit that copy. Never edit the original photo.
- Mac: Double-click the photo (it should then open using Preview) and select Show edit toolbar. Select Adjust size.
- Windows: Double-click the photo (it should then open in Windows Photo Viewer) and select Open and then Paint. When it opens in Paint, select Resize and then Pixels. Enter the desired size in the Horizontal and Vertical boxes and select OK. Select the Save icon to save the changes to the photo.
- iOS: You will need to download a third-party app to resize photos. Enter 'Resize Photo' in the search box in the App store to view what apps are available.
If you want to remove some of the background in your photo, you will need to crop the photo.
- Mac: Double-click the photo (it should then open using Preview) and select Show edit toolbar. Using your mouse, draw around the section of the photo you would like to keep, then select Crop to selection.
- Windows: Open your photo in Paint and use the rectangular selection shape to select the area you would like to keep. Then, select Crop.
- iOS: Open the photo and select Edit. Select crop and resize as required.
