Turnitin is replacing Ouriginal on MyHELMS

The text matching software on MyHELMS is changing from Ouriginal to Turnitin, commencing in November 2025. From early November, you will see Ouriginal replaced with Turnitin, in your assessment upload areas.

During the switchover, you may see some assessments offering Ouriginal analysis, while others offer Turnitin analysis. Use the option available to you while submitting your assessment; either system is equally acceptable. In addition, students should always refer to the College's Academic Integrity and Good Practice Policy for the standards of ethical conduct required of academic work.

The submission process, when using Turnitin, remains unchanged. Uploading your assessment to MyHELMS will automatically send it to Turnitin for analysis. The analysis report will, however, have a new layout. A short recording will be available on MyHELMS to demonstrate the Turnitin analysis report.
