Pass by Compensation means that a student who has achieved a marginal fail (35-39%) can, at the discretion of the Board of Examiners, pass the module by compensation.

This can be applied on a component level or a module level, where programme rules allow it. Pass by Compensation can only be applied to first attempts at assessments.

You can find more details in the Assessment, Grading and Certification Policy.
